Nokia have announced the release of the N95 to “key” European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets. No release has been mentioned for the US. This is a bit of a shame because this “multimedia computer” looks pretty full of useful gadgetry.
To get you started, the N95 has an integrated 5 Megapixel Camera with a Carl Zeiss lens (a favourite of the Sony Camera ranges). It also has integrated stereo speakers, and includes a 2GB microSD card for storing the “DVD-like quality video clips” you record.
To add to all this wizardry is the integrated GPS, for use with the Nokia Maps application. A pretty fully-loaded handset it has to be said.
The official Nokia spin said, “The Nokia N95 is the ultimate multimedia computer and a fantastic example of what Nokia Nseries devices can deliver,” said Juha Putkiranta, senior vice president, Multimedia, Nokia. “It easily replaces a number of single purpose devices with a well designed package that is with you and connected. The Nokia N95 is what computers have become - personal, powerful and connected devices.”
