Vivitar have released a waterproof digital camera aimed squarely at the consumer market. First looks at the specs of the Vivicam 6200W wouldn’t get the average snapper too excited.

That said the camera has a respectable six megapixel CCD, a focus free lens (obviously optical zoom would add some challenges underwater) although it does sport a 4x digital zoom. Other features include 16MB of internal memory and a 2” viewfinder on the back.

The obvious draw for this digital camera is the fact that it is waterproof up to a depth of 30 feet. So if you often find yourself wanting to take photo’s around the pool or at the beach this could be a fun “point-and-click” for you.
