creative-zen-wav.jpgHave you ever been to a sporting event and done the wave? For some it’s fun and for others the word lame comes to mind. Creative’s latest portable media player - the Creative Wav - seems to fill the bill for reasons to both love or hate it as it debuts in Singapore.

Let’s talk quickly about the biggest reason to stay seated in your stadium chair as others stand up around you - the design. It looks….well, boring. Two tiny speakers, a 1.5-inch color display and a design which looks akin to an old Sony pocket cassette recorder do little to make it compete against beauties like the Lanhui LH-400.

Features, on the other hand, give us more of a reason to join the cheering crowd. The Creative Wav can playback AVI video files as well as MP3/WMA audio files. It can also display JPEGs. All standard stuff, but still important. Reported battery life is cool though at 30 hours of audio playback.

Other more standard features of this 2GB player include a five-way navigation control, in-line audio recording, e-book reader, FM radio with presets, alarm clock, voice recorder and USB 2.0 support.
