A company well known for their line of luxury cell phones, Gresso, has announced that later this year they will be launching the Gresso Symphonia. A line of MP3 players set in exotic materials and with exotic prices to boot. Prices will range from $4,000 to $6,500.Reported on gizmag, the collection is set to be released in 2nd quarter 2007 (May through August). There will be four initial Symphoonia models with a range of colors. White Gold, Blackwood and Pink Gold, White Gold and Pink Gold.

No, they won’t be diamond encrusted or anything but they will all sport ancient blackwood and 18 carat gold trimming in each configuration. See the picture to get a better idea. The player will also include a built in FM tuner. So what could possibly be wrong with this beautiful masterpiece of an mP3 player? Why I’ll tell you. It only plays music (Mp3, WMA, ASF and OGG) and it only has a total of 1GB internal flash memory. So basically you’d be paying up to $6,500 for a gold plated iPod Shuffle.

Don’t know how they plan to pull this off but then again the iPod seemed to have gotten away with less features by looking pretty. However, that was before there were iPods.
