Not sure how this one is going to fly with Apple’s lawyers but an outfit by the name of Silverhawk Entertainment Group has announced plans to gain “retail distribution licensing rights” from Rockit! Productions for the Rockit! MP4 player.
Why might Apple have issue with this do you ask? Well - take a look at the photo and tell me if it looks strikingly familiar to the iPod nano. Once you get past the copycat design and take a look at the specs of this player you actually see a half decent machine begin to appear.
The RockIt! MP4, available in three model storage sizes (1GB priced at $49.95, 2GB at $69.95 and 4GB at $89.95) is geared for displaying AMV video files and JPEG photo files as well as playing back MP3 and WMA audio files. The player’s 1.8-inch color display is housed in an anodized aluminum design that also holds a rechargeable battery.
Other features of the RockIt! MP4 include a FM radio and USB 2.0 support. The RockIt! MP4 (which also has a smaller sibling called the RockIt! Mini that looks very much like the iPod shuffle) looks to be available now. Get’em while you can before Apple gets them shut down.

Geez… How familiar does that look?
Dirt cheap as well.
