Turbolinux, a maker of Linux-based solutions, recently announced they were expanding the global presence of their rather unique wizpy portable media player. What makes this device so interesting for many is that you can use it (sort of) as a portable computer.
The wizpy, when you connect it to a PC, boots into a Linux operating system from which you can interact with a variety of applications. These programs let you do things like answer email, view RSS feeds, browse the Web and view/edit OpenDocument (ODF) office documents. There’s even IP telephone software included.
As a portable media player wizpy lets you watch DivX videos on its 1.7-inch OLED display. You can also enjoy OGG/MP3/AAC audio files and JPEG digital images. Other features include voice recording, FM radio and a text viewer for reading e-books.
