eNeccessities has released a cool little marketing device. A USB “sound drive”. The way it works is each time you connect the device to the USB port on a PC it will play a little pre-recorded message. A great victory and milestone for solid state/flash memory? Hardly, but a pretty cool little gimmick (until you become annoyed with it) nonetheless.
The $45 per unit price tag is likely to be a bit forbidding to your average small to medium sized business to give away in bulk but seems a doable way to get your message out by giving them away in sweepstakes or as contest prizes even if you can only budget for a few.
eNeccessities is pushing it as a triple threat advertising tool. You can market via the 10 to 20 second message it can play through it’s speaker, have your company logo imprinted on it, and of course since it’s a drive you can load it with all the propoganda — erm I mean — company brochures, information, or product samples you like.
I’ve contacted eNeccessities and I’m awaiting a response but I’m going to go ahead and make a wild guess that you can’t simply turn the message off when you get sick of it. Could be wrong here though. I’m also looking into snagging a few to give away here on PocketSynch. Which reminds me the new PocketSynch.com logo should be added by tomorrow so stay tune for that as well.
Wow this is nice i wonder if there will be a video drive ![]()
Definitely a preety expensive way of advertising…but the innovative thought involve in this is unique …we must admit that.
Regards to you all.

Topical and well researched, this has everything a USB sound drive lover could want- and if it hasn’t it will find it for you! I am ‘beyond’ impressed! Top work!!.
Although the price tag slightly high for what it is, I would love to buy one ![]()
Great idea! I think that it has great potential! ![]()

I like this device but somehow I doubt that it will be used a lot. It is a pretty expensive way of advertising. It is like paying 45$ for a click on Google
Cheers
