Philips DCD778Philips have introduced the DCD778, an under-cabinet Entertainment System primarily for use in the kitchen.

With an 8.5” flip-down screen for the display, owners can use the in-build DVD Player to play back DVD movies, (S)VCD, MP3-CD, CD(RW) and Picture CD. There’s also a built in digital AM/FM tuner, as well as an ATSC/NTSC TV tuner for watching your favourite TV programmes. Sound is supplied via the built in stereo speakers. Full Story »

The BeatlesAccording to the L.A. Times, and what I picked up on CNN last night, Apple still needs to work out the details with record label EMI, as well as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the heirs of John Lennon and George Harrison. But it appears with this latest development, which was really the last barrier between the Beatles and the information super highway, we may be that much closer to having the Beatles on the go. The Beatles have been one of a small handful of long time holdouts that would not allow their music to be licensed for download though some solo work by McCartney and Starr is available on iTunes.
