Reported on KYW News out of Philadelphia.
There is a story in Germantown, PA of a 60 year old teacher who was attacked and knocked to the ground by two 9th grade students after confiscating one of their iPods. He is listed in stable condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Granted, not as shocking as the XBox 360 robberies last year, but still rather extreme.
The two students fled and have not as of yet been apprehended, but I’m sure the RIAA is in hot pursuit… of the iPod I mean. I once shot a man for playing Air Supply on his iPod speakers, but it was ruled self defense.
Although Microsoft hasn’t been Googlebombed for the “miserable failure” that is their attempt at an iPod killer, the word has spread none the less. The Google search results below show what’s being said about the Zune, and how often:

Well when I first saw this over on ministry of tech my first thought was, “you’re kidding right?”. Apparently the idea behind it is not necessarily to “deter” a thief from snatching your iPod out of the car, but to disguise it so that they don’t know it’s an iPod. So instead they’re supposed to think it’s a freakishly large box of mints? Full Story »
