Engadget is reviewing a new service called GadgetTrak that uploads remote tracking code to any USB-connectable device. In the event that the device is stolen, information about its whereabouts is sent back to the original owner in the form of current IP address, usernames, etc. Full Story »

Well when I first saw this over on ministry of tech my first thought was, “you’re kidding right?”. Apparently the idea behind it is not necessarily to “deter” a thief from snatching your iPod out of the car, but to disguise it so that they don’t know it’s an iPod. So instead they’re supposed to think it’s a freakishly large box of mints? Full Story »
